SPECIALTY IN FOOT & ANKLE SURGERY
Justin M. Weatherall, MD is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon who has an additional fellowship in foot and ankle surgery. His practice consists of upper and lower extremity fracture care and surgery, arthroscopic foot, ankle and knee surgery, total hip, knee and ankle replacement, foot and ankle sports medicine, reconstructive hindfoot and midfoot surgery, and bunions and forefoot surgery. Additionally, Dr. Weatherall takes Orthopedic Trauma Call at a Level One Trauma hospital in Broward County.
Dr. Weatherall was born in Houston, Texas and grew up in the Houston area. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University. He then attended the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. While in medical school, Dr. Weatherall was selected to be a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Weatherall completed his Orthopedic Surgery Internship and Residency at New York University Medical Center and the Hospital for Joint Diseases. During residency he also trained at Bellevue Hospital, the Manhattan VA Hospital and Jamaica Hospital in New York City. During his residency he spent an additional two months in Tampa, Florida at Tampa General Hospital and St. Joseph’s hospital working with fellowship-trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeons. During residency Dr. Weatherall received extensive training in Total Joint Replacements, Sports Medicine, Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and Orthopedic Trauma.
After completing residency, Dr. Weatherall completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery in Charlotte, North Carolina, at the OrthoCarolina O.L. Miller Foot and Ankle Institute. While in North Carolina he trained with foot and ankle fellowship trained orthopedic surgeons Drs. Robert Anderson, Bruce Cohen, W. Hodges Davis and Carroll Jones. Under the tutelage of those surgeons he received extensive training in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Weatherall has also completed additional training through the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners to become a Board Certified Independent Medical Examiner.
He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, the Florida Orthopedic Society and serves as Team Physician for Florida Atlantic and Lynn Universities.
Dr. Weatherall is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine. He also participates in the Broward Health Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program teaching the residents during their foot and ankle and trauma surgery rotations.
Dr. Weatherall is married with three children. His wife, Angela Weatherall, MD, is a practicing Dermatologist in Boca Raton and North Broward.
