Dr. Young is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon who has been practicing in Boca Raton since 1979. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Rutgers University. He received his M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School in 1973 and did all of his post-graduate training at Harvard’s affiliated hospitals including Boston Children’s Hospital, Brigham Hospitals, Beth Israel Hospital, and Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Young then completed the Massachusetts General Hospital Track of the Harvard Orthopedic Residency Program. He was Chief Resident in Orthopedic Surgery at Beth Israel Hospital as well as a Teaching Fellow in Orthopedics at Harvard Medical School.
Following that, he completed an additional fellowship at the Brigham Hospitals in the field of Total Joint Replacement Surgery of the Hip and Knee. He has been elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery.
In the operating room, Dr. Young specializes in total hip and knee replacements, with an emphasis on using the latest technique of the anterior approach for total hip replacements. He works thoughtfully with his patients to determine the complete scope of their issues to give them the best possible results.
In the office, Dr. Young treats a wide variety of orthopedic concerns. He believes in a thoughtful and comprehensive approach including a thorough and detailed medical history and physical exam followed by a complete radiological and MRI evaluation, where indicated. Treatment plans are individually tailored to each patient’s diagnosis and associated medical conditions. He takes the time to fully educate his patients as to their diagnosis and works jointly with them in a patient-centered manner to develop a successful plan for treatment.
